1. Call
The call for applications for admission to the MSc Program “Microsystems and Nanodevices” is issued annually in early June. The announcement is published on the official online platform of the Postgraduate Programme (www.physics.ntua.gr/micronano), and candidates are informed through notices posted at relevant school secretariats. Additional outreach may include announcements or articles in newspapers and magazines.
2. Eligibility
In accordance with the general guidelines governing Postgraduate Studies at the NTUA, candidates may initially be accepted from the following categories:
- Graduates of NTUA and other Engineering Schools in Greece.
- Graduates of other Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in Greece with a relevant scientific background.
- Graduates of HEIs abroad with a relevant scientific background, who have completed studies recognized as equivalent to those of Greek HEIs and hold a degree equivalent to an M.Sc., M.Eng., or another equivalent qualification.
- Final-year students of NTUA or HEIs falling under the aforementioned categories, provided they submit evidence that they will obtain their degree prior to the commencement of the MSc program. Certificates will not be issued to such individuals until their degree completion is confirmed.
3. Selection
A fundamental requirement for admission to the MSc Program “Microsystems and Nanodevices” is possessing a foundational level of knowledge essential for engaging with the program’s interdisciplinary curriculum.
The responsibility for selecting candidates lies with the Selection Committee for Postgraduate Students, which comprises three (3) faculty members of first or second grade, drawn from the NTUA Schools participating in the MSc Program “Microsystems and Nanodevices”.
4. Application
Candidates must provide evidence of their qualifications, including:
- Application-Form has to be filled and submitted as an attach file (docx and pdf)
- Certified copy of their undergraduate degree and a detailed academic transcript outlining the specific content of their undergraduate studies.
- Comprehensive curriculum vitae (CV), including any relevant professional experience.
- Publications in academic journals and/or conference proceedings, if applicable.
- Documentation of proficiency in foreign languages and computer skills.
- Two recommendation letters from academic or professional references.
- Copy of ID or passport
If the Selection Committee determines that a candidate’s foundational knowledge does not meet the minimum requirements for attending the MSc Program, they may mandate the successful completion of specific undergraduate courses. If the required prerequisite undergraduate courses are fewer than three (3), the Selection Committee may allow the candidate to attend these courses concurrently with their postgraduate studies. However, successful examination in these prerequisite courses must be completed before the commencement of the postgraduate courses for which they serve as prerequisites.
